SLT Today: TCA: Awards for 'Game of Thrones,' 'Breaking Bad,' more
“The Big Bang Theory,” CBS, and “Parks and Recreation,” NBC; a tie for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy -- Clearly, the award meant more to "Parks and Rec," with Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott, Retta, Jim O'Heir and executive producer Mike Schur among the large group attending. Poehler and Jones arrived together, a bit late, and faked horror (or, perhaps it was real horror) on learning no dinner would be served and the buffet was closing. Scott wanted to know what I thought about the departure of Jones and Rob Lowe after 13 episodes this season and emphasized that "there's no drama in this." He also wanted to know what critics think are the best and worst new series of the year. For "Big Bang," only Kunal Nayar (Raj) from the cast attended, joining executive producers Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Steve Molaro to pick up the award. Noting that Louis C.K. had credited the critics with helping his show, Lorre said, "They can also sneak into the nursery and kill the baby. You write a show and it’s called ‘putrid’ – it sticks with you!”
