From Vanity Fair:
There’s nothing that makes us happier in the hallowed halls of the V.F.C.S.D. than a bit of inspired creative genius. To wit, I recently had the opportunity to sit down with actor, producer, and director Adam Scott for a special portfolio with the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, featured in the October 100th Anniversary Issue. We discussed everything from his R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People album to the resurgence of Birkenstocks to Scott’s wildly diverse career (Step Brothers, Parks and Recreation, Party Down, The Vicious Kind). We also chatted about his latest pet project, The Greatest Event in Television History—a series of short-films he’s created with some A-list pals paying homage to 80s TV shows. “Just before we had the idea for the show,” Scott says, “Jon Hamm and I were just looking through opening credit sequences and started e-mailing ones back and forth.” Currently in the Greatest Event canon are faithful recreations of the openers to Simon and Simon (starring Scott and Hamm) and Hart to Hart (featuring Scott with his Parks co-star Amy Poehler). Thankfully, there are two more in the works: rumor has it a Too Close for Comfort reboot will air on November 7 at midnight, with another to follow in early 2014. “It’s my first taste of starting something from scratch, seeing it to fruition, putting it out there, and people enjoying it. It’s this deeply stupid thing, but it’s really fun.”
